What causes unresponsive loader arm function
- Failed solenoid valve — the electrical component that opens hydraulic flow to the function; when it fails, the arm gets no signal to move
- Low hydraulic fluid — always check this first since it's the easiest thing to rule out
- Electrical fault — a bad connector or wiring issue can prevent the solenoid from receiving power even if the valve itself is fine
- Contaminated hydraulic fluid — debris can cause a valve to stick partially open or closed
How to tell it's the solenoid valve
If you hear the solenoid click when you activate the control but the arm still doesn't move, the valve itself has likely failed internally even though it's receiving an electrical signal. If there's no click at all, check wiring and connectors first.
