Forklift Engine Care: 5 Habits That Prevent Breakdowns

Forklift engines rarely fail without warning. Most breakdowns trace back to a small, cheap part that was overdue for replacement, a filter, a pump seal, a belt, quietly wearing out until it took something bigger down with it. A handful of regular habits will catch nearly all of it early.

1. Replace air and hydraulic filters on schedule, not just when they look dirty

A filter can look fine and still be past its effective life, letting fine contaminants through into the engine or hydraulic system.
